A Fox Themed Baby Sprinkle

Hamburg NY Baby Shower Photography

One of my best friends is having her second (and last) baby this month! To say I am excited would be an understatement.

I assisted her Mom and another friend in planning a small sprinkle to welcome the sweet baby boy. Jess threw and amazing shower for me when I was expecting my first baby. I was so happy to get the opportunity to put something together for her.

The nursery is filled with the cutest little fox themed items. So the theme for the shower naturally became Little Fox. I set out to Etsy where I found the perfect shop Little Birdie Prints. I emailed Kim back and fourth and was able to create a custom package with the items I wanted. She was so amazing to assist me and very quick to respond. I loved every item I chose.

Of course so many things I wanted were found on Etsy and Pinterest. Unfortunately since the sprinkle was to be held a month after Christmas, a lot of the shops were closed until after the first of the new year. This meant that it would be too late to chance getting the orders. So I decided I would DIY almost all of it.

The cake topper is made of polymer clay. I found what I wanted and made the best version I could of it. For my first time working with clay, I think I did alright.
I made the tissue paper garland out of tissue paper of course with a tutorial off of pinterest. The best selection of tissue paper colors that I found, was Hobby Lobby. They are inexpensive and they have an entire aisle to choose from.

I searched the clearance sections after Christmas to find woodland themed items, the sleeping fox was by far my favorite.
I bought the flowers at Costco on my way to NY. I actually really like the selection they have most of the time. I feel terrible about using such a large chain since I try to totally support small businesses for items like this. But I was on a budget and I was able to get 2 bouquets for under $30.
The vases are actually tin cans that I wrapped with birch bark wrapping paper that I found at Pier 1 after Christmas. I like the way they turned out, they looked like they were made out of wood.

The favors were so much fun to make. They are S'mores Pops! I melted chocolate, popped a marshmallow on a stick and swirled it around in the chocolate until it was well coated, then I crushed up gram crackers and sprinkled them over the melted chocolate. Every guest got a bunch of 3, because there was no way 1 could be enough! I wrapped them in small cellophane bags and tied them with twine and a favor tag that I also got from Little Birdie Prints.

Kristal took charge of the food, and man did she do a great job! Every delicious dip you could think to make, she made it. Everything down to a frosting dip that you dip animal crackers in. There was Buffalo Wing Dip (my personal favorite) Bread dips, pizza dips, veggie dips, you name it, it was there. Yummy!

I did make one food item, the CAKE! I tried my hand at making a semi-naked cake. It was so delicious and moist! Even after being carted from Ohio to WNY. It was a chocolate cake with a buttercream frosting. Just the right amount of sweet ;)

Well here are the pictures of the day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.
