Meet the Finalists!
Reading through these applications for the 2016 Wedding Photography Giveaway has been so inspiring! These couples have some pretty great romance happening over here! I am so happy that I don't have to decide the winner on my own!
I decided to run a giveaway this year because I wanted to give something to a deserving couple that would help give them a wedding day they have always dreamed of. My hopes are that this giveaway will give the winners a little bit of financial relief on an otherwise very expensive day. I know that there are so many deserving couples out there, but please know that I had a very difficult time narrowing down these applicants. I am so inspired by each of these beautiful love stories. Please take the time to read each couples story before voting for your favorite, they each have a very personal and unique story to tell.
So without any further ado, here they are!
Jonalee & Doug
I met my fiancé Doug 3 1/2 yrs ago. At the time we met I was a single mother of my beautiful daughter Arden. She was 5 yrs old at the time. She was my only concern. In my eyes there was no room or need to date. I did however, eventually dip my toes into the dating pool. I thank God everyday I made that decision not because that was when I met my fiancé but due to the failure of that attempt at a relationship he was brought into my life. A friend of many years said to me," Let me know when your ready to try dating again. I have the perfect match for you."
One week later she asked if I wanted to meet a guy on a blind date. The last thing on my mind at that point was dating. I however, did agree to my first blind date. That night I went into the date with no expectations for the first time in my life. That night I met my match!
I found my soulmate. He is as goofy and caring as he is lovable. He loves my daughter as his own. He truly is the man God had intended for me and well worth the wait!!! I will be 36yrs old when I walk down the isle for the first time....and it was all in God's plan for myself,Arden and Doug.
Sara & Mark
Mark and I met 5 years ago at Ray's Place in Kent through a mutual friend. We bonded pretty quickly over our shared love of history, super heroes, TMNT & comedy movies. We enjoy teaching each other about our passions(Harry Potter v. golfing) and eating our body weight in pizza. We've been inseperable ever since the first day we met. We are living the dream with our two "furry McFuros" the Earl Fluffington and Shelby. Hopefully 2016 isn't just the year we get married but the year the Tribe wins the World Series as well.
Bethany & Greg
Greg and I met on match.com. I saw his picture and thought he looked so kind, warm, sincere, and cuuute! I asked him out on a date, and we met at the Loop in Tremont. We went on a walk and sat on a bench in Lincoln Park, chatting for hours. There was instant chemistry, and the rest was history. :3
Our proposal story is epic and so wonderfully joyful. On Thanksgiving 2 years ago, Greg and I traveled to New York City. I have a bucket list of things I'm always trying to cross off, and one of them was ice skating at Rockefeller Center Skating Rink. Greg suggested that we cross it off, so we happily skated around for a while. When we both decided we were done, he subtly led me to the center of the rink, then got down on one knee and PROPOSED, ahh! It was such an incredible suprise - and experience! When I said yes, literally hundreds of people - both surrounding us in the rink and watching high above us - began screaming and clapping with delight! The two of us felt enveloped with love and support - and strangers even filmed it for us! *(I would love to send you the videos).
Greg and I have been together almost 3 1/2 years. Our love is supportive, compassionate, and deeply loving. I know it's cliche at this point, but I can say with complete sincerity I cannot wait to marry my best friend. We strive to make each other feel heard, held, and loved every day. We bought a house in Lakewood last May - met in Cleveland, wanted to stay here in Cleveland for a while - and I cannot wait to share our most amazing milestone together in our backyard! AHH my feels! <3
Mary Jo & Sebastian
I met Sebastian my last semester at Kent State University. He was studying a semester abroad. We met playing on a co-ed soccer team. I couldn't understand his accent very well, but found him incredibly charming. He was so funny, always making me laugh, and I felt like I had known him forever. We quickly hit it off, and began dating before he had to head home to Germany. We've dated almost six years long-distance, taking turns flying back and forth to see each other. I flew to Germany to spend Thanksgiving with Sebastian this past November. My first night there he surprised me with an overnight hotel stay. Before we left the apartment, he blindfolded me. I knew then either it was an elaborate surprise or he was finally going to propose. We arrived at the room and after making me wait what felt like an eternity, he said I could take off the blindfold and follow the path. When I removed it, there was a path of rose petals. I turned the corner and Sebastian was standing there among roses, candles and heart balloons. It was such a special moment when he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I of course said yes! We're having two weddings, the first is in Berlin, Germany, on July 16 where the official ceremony will take place. Then on August 13, we'll have a small ceremony followed by a large reception in Ohio with our US family and friends. We can't wait!
Wedding Style: Because we're planning two, we're keeping things pretty simple and going for charming rustic. My bridesmaids are wearing neutral dresses (not matching), and I love simple flowers that are mostly white with lots of greenery - queen anne's lace, pale hydrangeas and lots of green (love succulents). We both just want a fun day with our family and friends.
Jeniffer & Derrick
We met attending college and introduced with mutual friends. We have been together for four years now. He proposed at my grandmothers house when visiting for the the weekend. We enjoy the outdoors and fishing. He chose to place the ring and ask me to marry him when changing the line out while fishing at my grandmas.
