Your Wedding Details…Enhanced

Lea Marie Photography

As you plan your wedding, you dream of what the day will look like. The flowers, the invitations, your grandmothers broach tied to your bouquet. You plan your gifts to one-another and imagine their face as they open them and read the handwritten letter that you wrote. The perfume you wear that is your signature fragrance, he will link so many memories to this day whenever that scent finds him. Maybe your veil is a family heirloom that all the women in your family have worn. Or maybe your brand new shoes are something to truly be coveted.

No matter what your details are, you have put so much thought into it all. Personally picked everything to tie together and all of it works so well together to tell your story. That’s where I come in! I arrive to your bridal suite carrying my small, vintage travel case. Inside my case I carry all of my detail enhancers like ribbons, ring boxes, trays, linens and so much more. I use these items to enhance your already beautifully cultivated details. They sort of go unnoticed, but truthfully they really do enhance your photos so beautifully.
Many times I will talk to the florist and request some extra loose stems that match your wedding florals. I will add these into your detail photos to tie the day together. This way everything is cohesive and flows together telling the whole story from beginning to end.

The image below is an example of detail enhancers. The image on the left looks fine. It’s a great image of the invitation, I could deliver this to my couple and still be proud of it. But the image on the right, it tells a story. By adding in the shoes, the ribbon, envelopes and a few petals from a boxwood bush, I was able to add so much more dimension. My eye is instantly drawn to the image on the right because it pulls so many details from the day into one image, allowing you to see a cohesive story in your album. It’s all beautifully tied together.

If you would like to purchase your own items for your photographer to use as detail enhancers, talk to them and see what they advise. I personally love The Mrs. Box for rings. And you can have them customized with your initials or wedding date to keep as a keepsake.
The best advice I can give it to make sure that you put all of your details together in one place the night before your wedding. This way your maid of honor or your Mom can hand those off to your photographer without having to search for everything in the bridal suite. A few items you will want to make sure are included:

  • Dress

  • Shoes

  • Jewelry- this includes ALL the rings

  • Veil

  • Invitation Suite

  • Perfume

  • Any heirlooms that will be included

  • Florals- If you can at least have some loose stems from the florist. Flowers that match your bouquet tie all the colors and details together.

No matter what details you have, your photographer will make sure to photograph them to be remembered. After all, if you put time, effort and money into choosing something, it should be captured and memorialized for you to look back and enjoy.
